History

The Rawalpindi & Islamabad Chapter is one of the oldest and most influential regional chapters of the Kohatian Association. Given the region’s strategic importance and its status as the administrative and military heart of Pakistan, it naturally became a key focal point for Kohatians living in and around the area. Over the years, the chapter has grown to include a significant number of overseas Kohatians who remain actively engaged in its activities and decision-making processes.

Key milestones in the history of the Rawalpindi & Islamabad Chapter include:

  • Early Formation: The chapter was formed in response to the increasing number of Kohatians settling in Rawalpindi and Islamabad after graduation, many of whom went on to assume senior roles in the military, government, and private sectors.
  • Formalisation: As more Kohatians moved to the twin cities, the chapter became a formal part of the Kohatian Association, establishing its own executive committee to oversee its activities.
  • Expansion of Influence: Over the years, the chapter has become a key player in Kohatian Association matters, with its members often playing a central role in constitutional reforms, e-voting, and other initiatives.
  • Overseas Representation: The Rawalpindi & Islamabad Chapter has a significant presence of overseas Kohatians who remain actively engaged in chapter affairs, providing financial support, mentorship, and thought leadership.
